Club History

Over the years the Club has undergone changes of name and venues until it was settled in 1968 in its current site on reclaimed land beside the harbour in Maidens under its present name. The first competitions were played in 1969.  The Green and Clubhouse were built  by the Members at that time and in recent years, the kitchen and toilets have been upgraded.  In 1999, artificial banks were created, an automatic watering system installed and new paths laid. In 2006 a new extension to the clubhouse was opened comprising a locker room, a bar area and a club lounge / committee room. A new Locker Room was built in 2014 giving more space to the increasing membership.
The very mild, dry, warm South Ayrshire climate makes Maidens Bowling Green one of the finest in Ayrshire and the whole of Scotland
